Paul was a career Marine who served in the Corps for 19 years and attained the rank of First Sergeant. He graduated from the Gate of Heaven Grammar School and Boston English High School . Paul was the father of eight children. While in the Corps, Paul was awarded three Purple Hearts. Paul was posthumously awarded the Navy Commendation Medal in 1970.
